Privacy Policy

Overview

exceed (“we”, “us”, “the bot”, or “the service”) is a Discord bot and companion web dashboard. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By adding the bot to a Discord server or using the dashboard, you agree to this policy.

exceed is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Discord Inc.

Information we collect

To provide its features, the bot stores data tied to Discord identifiers. We only collect what the features you enable actually require.

• Server and configuration data: server (guild) IDs, channel IDs, role IDs, and the settings you configure for each feature.
• User identifiers: Discord user IDs, and where a feature needs it, usernames, nicknames, and avatars (for example leveling, moderation cases, tickets, and transcripts).
• Message content: only where a feature requires it — for example automod scanning, leveling, starboard, tickets and ticket transcripts, custom commands, AI summaries, and voice-message transcription. We do not log or store message content beyond what those features need.
• Voice and media: when you use voice-message transcription or image moderation, the relevant audio or image is processed to produce a result.
• Dashboard sign-in: when you log in to the dashboard, we use Discord OAuth to receive your user ID, username, avatar, and the list of servers you can manage. We never receive your Discord password.

How we use your information

We use the information solely to operate and provide the features you enable: moderation and safety, leveling and engagement, voice and music, tickets and support, utility tools, and AI-powered features, as well as to authenticate you on the dashboard.

We do not use your data for advertising profiling, and we do not sell your data.

AI features and third-party processing

Some features — such as AI summaries, the setup assistant, persona chat, moderation assistance, image moderation, and voice-message transcription — send the relevant content (text, images, or audio) to Google’s Gemini API to generate a response. That content is processed by Google under its own terms and privacy policy. We send only what the feature requires, and only when you use or enable it.

Data sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only with: Google (for the AI features described above); our hosting and infrastructure providers, which store the database that powers the service; and Discord, through normal operation of the bot. We may disclose information if required to do so by law.

Data retention

Configuration and feature data are retained while the bot is in your server. Ticket transcripts are retained until you delete them or the server's data is deleted. Operational logs, such as error logs, are pruned automatically (typically within 7 days). When the bot is removed from a server, or upon request, associated data can be deleted.

Your choices and data deletion

You can remove the bot from your server at any time. Server administrators can delete a server’s stored data from the dashboard’s danger zone. To delete your personal data across every server exceed is in, sign in at https://exceed.bot/data-deletion and request deletion. It takes effect 30 days later, you can cancel any time before then, and exceed will DM you on Discord once it is done.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect stored data, including access controls and restricting database access to the service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy

The service is intended for users who meet Discord’s minimum age requirement (at least 13, or older where required by local law). We do not knowingly collect information from anyone below that age.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
