Time Capsule

Write a message to the future — exceed seals it and delivers it back to your server when the time comes.

A Time Capsule is a message you send forward in time. Write something now — a prediction, a note to a future you, a message for the server on its next anniversary — and exceed holds onto it, then posts it back when the timer runs out. It's a fun way to mark milestones and see how things turn out.

Commands

,capsule add <msg> [in <duration>] seal a message for later
,capsule list see your pending capsules
,capsule cancel <id> pull a capsule back before it opens

The in <duration> part is natural, like in 6 months, in 1 year, or in 30 days. Leave it off and exceed defaults to a year out.

Examples

,capsule add We'll hit 5,000 members before this opens. in 6 months
,capsule add Happy anniversary to the server 🎉 in 1 year

When a capsule opens, exceed posts it in the channel where it was created and credits who wrote it. Run ,capsule list any time to check what you've got waiting, and ,capsule cancel if you change your mind before it's delivered.
