Catchup

Catchup answers "what did I miss?" in one command. exceed figures out where you left off in a channel and summarises everything that's happened since — the main threads of conversation, decisions, questions aimed at you, and anything worth your attention — so you can rejoin without scrolling through hundreds of messages.

Commands

,catchup                         summarise the current channel since you last saw it
,catchup [#channel]              summarise a specific channel since you last saw it

The summary comes back as a private, ephemeral reply — only you see it, so catching up never adds noise to the channel.

How "since you last saw it" works

exceed tracks your own read position per channel, so the summary starts from where you actually stopped rather than a fixed time window. Been gone an hour or gone a week, you get exactly the gap you missed. If you're brand new to a channel, Catchup summarises its recent activity instead so you can get your bearings.

Catchup reads only channels you already have access to, and the summary is generated on demand — nothing is stored.
