Command Channels

Turn bot commands off for regular members in specific channels while still letting admins use them.

What it does

Some channels are not the place for bot commands, like your rules channel, an announcements feed, or a quiet members-only lounge. Command channels let you switch every bot command off in the channels you choose, so regular members can't run commands there at all.

This is a server-wide block, not a per-command one. Pick a channel and all of exceed's commands stop working in it for normal members.

How to set it up

On the dashboard General page there's a Disable commands in channels card. Pick one or more channels from the dropdown, then save. From then on, any command a regular member tries in those channels is ignored.

To allow commands again, remove the channel from the list and save.

Who can still use commands

Administrators and the server owner are never blocked. They can keep running commands in disabled channels, so you can still moderate or test things without lifting the restriction first.

When changes take effect

Updates apply within about 30 seconds of saving, so there's no need to restart anything or wait long to see the block take hold.

Tip: Use this to keep busy public channels clean while leaving a dedicated bot or commands channel open for members.
